I'm Veil, a self-taught nonbinary (they/them) artist, concept designer and aspiring writer.Ever since I was young, my artwork has always been about gloom, moodiness, wonderfully dark atmospheres and identity.With each piece, I typically integrate gothic elements, desaturated and often monochromatic palettes, grungy textures, an abundance of hatching and heavy symbolism. Given my range, however, I can deviate quite drastically from my usual formula, producing simpler and more vibrant pieces from time to time. 💖With art and writing, I prioritize self-expression, freedom and the core of one's identity, as well as why I personally believe the exploration of oneself is so important.

INFORMATION

Firstly, the best way to communicate with me for commissions is through Discord (@cozenveil), but if that doesn't work for you, any of my socials that you prefer to contact me on work fine.Secondly, my goal is to match your vision as precisely and faithfully as possible. This means it's up to you to offer reference images and detailed descriptions of things such as the overall composition, atmosphere, posing, expressions, perspective, art style and other miscellaneous details. Any details you leave out will be entirely up to my own personal interpretation, so I ask that you get as nitty-gritty as you can (unless, of course, you want me to handle the details you don't much care for).In addition, I will send you a few drafts— not sketches — to slowly work our way towards your ideal vision for the piece. Then, I'll send the first sketch, followed by secondary sketches made with various tweaks and adjustments that adhere to your wishes, and lastly, the final sketch, which you yourself will confirm the finality of. After you've paid the 50% upfront following the finalized sketch, you'll have a day or two to reconsider purchasing the commission, otherwise the piece becomes non-refundable beyond that point.Furthermore, if you want the absolute HIGHEST QUALITY version of your artwork, I will send it via my email, [email protected]. - After the details of the commission have been realized & confirmed, followed by you recieving the final completed sketch, half of the full price will be paid upfront.- Due to the nature of my payment methods (first 50% after receiving final sketch; other 50% after receiving a heavily watermarked final product), refunds are only available for a brief period after I send you the finalized sketch if your upfront 50% has gone through. This period is usually one to two days. After this, the piece will become non-refundable.- A watermark will be placed on the finished drawing until the other half of the payment has been successfully processed. Once confirmed, you will receive the piece without the watermark.



EXTRA INFORMATION

- I've made a habit of — after varying, undisclosed durations of time (be it weeks or months) — returning to my previous artworks and "remastering" them so that the quality represents my current standard. Chances are, I'll send you the remastered version of the artwork you've commissioned before, but don't fret; naturally, no additional payments are required. I would consider this a fun bonus, if anything. ~- My artwork will not be permitted to be used in derivative, A.I. related machine-learning. Fuck A.I. 🥹🖕✨️- These commissions are not for commercial use (any activity that promotes an item or generates revenue). These pieces are strictly for personal use. The exception to this rule will be the following; for promotional posters, stickers, book covers and other related showcases of my work, another pricing percentage will follow that we can discuss.

PROJECTS

Set in a fictional, parallel United States of America during the late years of the Prohibition-era, DOMANI ("Tomorrow") is an extremely noir, supremely gothic, dark-academia action-thriller with many elements of gothic, psychological, psychadelic and Lovecraftian horror sprinkled throughout."Ordeals", "Blood Whistlers" and other strange, modified humans occupied the gothic, coastal New England city of change and furtherance, Ravenroad. These beings — of whom had conceived this extrajudicial city years back — originally represented an impossibly distant manner of existence, where social normalities ceased to exist. In recent occurences, however, the city underwent major adjustments by insidious leaders of great influence. They planned to assimilate the isolated culture of Ravenroad into their own "ideal," homogenized society. However, these leaders did not plan to stop with Ravenroad.These events caused many residents of Ravenroad to pour into the rest of New England in acts of fear and defiance, spreading their knowledge, awareness and customs while they adjusted to the chaotic Roaring '20s. Their existence within the grander populace incited strife among the ordinary people and Ravenroad residents alike, causing a vehement conflict between the people of progress and the broader, traditional masses.As this nonlinear, character-driven story progresses and more perspectives are shown, the rabbit hole gets deeper, and even stranger existences beyond Ravenroad's own are revealed. Larger and darker plots untangle as each character delves into the confusing madness of their own existences while simultaneously handling the consequences of the unknown.Starring queer noir detectives, elegant and careless half-humans, the Cammora families of New England, nuns and priests in Venetian mech suits, internal and external Lovecraftian horrors, pocket watch wands, realms of consciousness and even reimagined appearances of public domain characters; DOMANI is filled to the brim with a delicate balance of sheer absurdity and believably rich character interactions.The large ensemble provides the meat and bones of this story, with their perspectives, personal identities and decisions molding the narrative as it develops. DOMANI is a blisteringly harsh yet excitingly tense message about queer/trans identities, non-conformity, rebellion, the importance of self-discovery, loss, as well as existentialism, among a plethora of other artistically-interpreted commentaries.Check back here and on my socials to stay updated on DOMANI!

Unnamed JOJO Project

Although it has yet to even begin the early stages of story development, I plan on one day releasing a fan-made graphic novel of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, set in an alternate universe that retells events from Parte 5: Vento Aureo, well before my own story, "La Favola Di Domani."In this graphic novel, I aim to have all pieces of artwork fully rendered, to reach the quality of the artwork you see above for each and every panel. I recognize the difficulty in making this happen, but I want to leave an impact with this story, and hopefully get more people interested in my original works.This A.U. sets out to get gothic as hell, reintegrate vampires and incorporate wild Lovecraftian elements; all prime staples of my work as a creator. Unnamed Sonic The Hedgehog Project

Much like the JOJO project, I also plan to some day release a graphic novel regarding my own Sonic The Hedgehog A.U. This A.U. maintains almost every canon plot point in the series, but redesigns every character of the cast, offering an interesting new take on every appearance while also presenting a fresh new narrative to fit the reimagined cast. It will be considerably less work than both "La Favola Di Domani" and the JOJO A.U., and will likely release before both of them, as well.The details are sparse, but much like the JOJO A.U., it will once again feature core elements of my work, but will nevertheless preserve the fun, vibrant atmosphere, hyper energy, saucy style, upbeat attitudes and fast-paced action the series is well known for.
